Duties and Responsibilities
As the Nurse Specialist Supervisor, you will be the cornerstone of OT quality and safety. Your leadership will ensure that MSF protocols are met while providing life-saving care to vulnerable populations.
- OT Leadership: Coordinate all surgical schedules and supervise the performance of OT nurses, aides, and sterilization technicians.
- Clinical Excellence: Oversee maternal surgical services, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.
- Operational Management: Manage medical supplies, stock levels, and the maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- Staff Development: Lead on-the-job training, coaching sessions, and departmental meetings to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Act as a bridge between MSF teams and the Ministry of Health to ensure seamless continuity of care.
Qualification and Experience
MSF is looking for a professional who combines technical surgical expertise with strong leadership capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Nursing (Mandatory).
- Certification: Valid registration and practicing license from the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council (TNMC).
- Experience: At least two (2) years of professional experience specifically as an OT Nurse.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and general internet usage.
Core Competencies
- Fluency in English and Swahili.
- Resilience and the ability to manage stress in high-pressure environments.
- A strong commitment to humanitarian principles and service-oriented care.
- Asset: Previous experience with MSF or other international NGOs.
