Job Summary

The institute is seeking skilled and motivated Clinical Officers to support clinical trial activities within selected study sites.

Selected candidates will participate in participant recruitment, medical screening, follow-up visits, patient care, and study documentation while ensuring compliance with research ethics and national treatment guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Conducting participant screening and enrolment according to study protocols
  • Providing clinical care based on Tanzania treatment guidelines
  • Reviewing laboratory results and resolving data-related queries
  • Supporting community sensitization and engagement activities
  • Ensuring compliance with SOPs, ethical procedures, and clinical trial protocols
  • Supervising study procedures and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Collaborating with healthcare facilities and community stakeholders
  • Participating in internal meetings, project activities, and study coordination
  • Supporting recruitment and retention of study participants
  • Performing additional project-related duties assigned by the study leadership team

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine
  • Valid registration/license from the Medical Council of Tanganyika
  • At least one year of experience in clinical research or healthcare services
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Basic computer and data management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Fluency in both English and Kiswahili
