Duties and Responsibilities

As a Nursing Assistant, you will be at the heart of patient care. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Patient Assessment: Conducting initial screenings for children arriving at the facility.
  • Clinical Support: Attending surgical clinics and advocating for the best treatment plans alongside doctors.
  • Hands-on Care: Performing wound care, therapeutic exercises, and wellness checks during clinical rounds.
  • Medication Management: Ensuring patients receive medication accurately and on schedule.
  • Communication: Educating families on treatment plans and responding to their concerns with professionalism.
  • Documentation: Maintaining high-quality, confidential electronic patient records.

Note: This role operates on a rotating roster, which includes evening and weekend shifts to ensure 24/7 care for the children.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Certificate or Diploma in Nursing Assistant, Medical Attendant, or a related healthcare field from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a clinical setting.
  • Specialization: Previous experience in pediatrics or surgical care is highly preferred.
  • Language: Fluency in both English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
  • Skills: Strong computer literacy, attention to detail, and a high level of professional ethics.
