Medical Officers Job at Tosamaganga Regional Referral Hospital

Tosamaganga Regional Referral Hospital is a premier healthcare institution with a legacy dating back to 1968. Founded by the Consolata Missionaries and inaugurated by the late Mwl. Julius K. Nyerere, the hospital has recently achieved the milestone of becoming a Regional Referral Hospital (as of March 2024).

Serving over 70,000 patients annually in the southern highlands, we are looking for dedicated medical professionals to join our growing team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Clinical Care: Diagnosing diseases and conditions; assessing and prescribing necessary therapies or medications.
• Patient Management: Monitoring progress and response to treatments; providing clear information to patients and families regarding diagnosis and goals.
• Administrative Excellence: Maintaining meticulous and accurate patient records and ensuring strict confidentiality of all patient data.
• Mentorship: Providing clinical education and guidance to junior clinicians and staff.
• Community Engagement: Developing and following up on community health activities and outreach.
• Professionalism: Executing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification and Experience

• Education: Bachelor of Medicine (MD Degree) from a recognized University or Institution.
• Registration: Must be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
• Licensing: Possession of a valid, current license to practice.
• Experience: A minimum of 36 months (3 years) of relevant experience.
• Commitment: Candidates must commit to the role for a minimum of one (1) year.

General Conditions

• Citizenship: All applicants must be citizens of Tanzania.
• Age: Applicants must be 45 years of age or younger.
• Documentation: You must attach an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV) including:

  • NIDA number.
• Certificates: Attach certified copies of the following:
  • MD Degree Certificate.
  • Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates.
  • Birth Certificate.
• Verification: Certificates from foreign universities must be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
