Job Description
St. Walburg’s Nyangao Referral Hospital is seeking a motivated and qualified Research Nurse (Study Nurse) to join our clinical team. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing alongside experience or specialized training in clinical research to effectively support and coordinate clinical trials and medical studies.

Position Title: Research Nurse (Study Nurse)
Number of Positions: 1
Duty Station: Nyangao, Lindi, Tanzania
Salary: Salary scale according to Government procedures, specifically TGHS C
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care and support to research participants, including conducting regular patient visits.

Serve as the primary point of contact for local healthcare staff regarding study protocols.

Coordinate and implement day-to-day operational research processes.

Carry out essential research support duties and maintain precise documentation.

Prepare for and actively participate in clinical audits and evaluations.

Ensure all research is conducted strictly according to clinical research protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Work in close collaboration with the principal researchers and medical teams.

Perform practical nursing duties including blood pressure measurement, sample handling/transportation, and detailed patient history collection.

Maintain rigorous data quality and integrity throughout the research lifecycle.

Participate in relevant national and international meetings and specialized training sessions.

Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to education, experience, and skills.
Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.

Licensure: Must hold a valid nursing license.

Technical Skills: Good computer skills (proficient in MS Office and electronic data systems).

Language: Excellent English language skills (both spoken and written).

Interpersonal Skills: Team player with good communication skills, a friendly personality, and an independent, organized, responsible, and reliable working style.

Experience: Proven experience and strong motivation in working directly with patients. Experience or training in clinical research is highly valued.
