Job Description

St. Walburg’s Nyangao Referral Hospital is looking to recruit a dedicated Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer). Applicants must possess recognized qualifications in Ultrasound and demonstrate at least two years of practical, hands-on experience specifically in obstetric ultrasound examinations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality obstetric ultrasound examinations.

  • Support doctors and midwives by providing accurate medical imaging and detailed examination reports.

  • Ensure proper documentation and secure storage of imaging results within our digital systems.

  • Prepare patients thoroughly for examinations and explain clinical procedures professionally to reduce anxiety.

  • Assist in maintaining ultrasound equipment to standard and ensure strict compliance with hygiene and safety protocols.

  • Collaborate closely with medical, research, and nursing teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  • Participate actively in quality assurance initiatives and hospital training activities.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Completed training as a Medical Radiology Assistant (MTRA), Sonographer, or equivalent qualification from government-recognized institutions.

  • Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in obstetric ultrasound examinations.

  • Technical Skills: Good computer skills and willingness to work efficiently with digital systems.

  • Language: Good English language proficiency. Knowledge of German is considered an added advantage.

  • Core Competencies: Strong communication skills, a patient-centered attitude, and the ability to work independently, accurately, and reliably. Demonstrates a strong team spirit and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment.
