Job Description

Job Summary

The Kigoma/Ujiji Municipal Council is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Driver Grade II. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of staff and materials while maintaining vehicle conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
  • Transport staff to various locations for official duties.
  • Perform minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Collect and distribute documents as required.
  • Record and maintain all trip details in the vehicle logbook.
  • Ensure cleanliness of assigned vehicles.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Form IV Certificate (Secondary Education).
  • Licensing: Valid Class E or C driver’s license with at least one year of accident-free driving experience.
  • Training: Basic vocational training in vehicle mechanics (from VETA or a government-recognized institution) is an added advantage.
