UMATI (Chama cha Uzazi na Malezi Bora Tanzania), a premier NGO and member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), is looking for two passionate, volunteer-minded individuals to join our team in Dar es Salaam.

The Role at a Glance

As a Call Centre Agent, you will be the frontline voice for UMATI, providing vital information and counseling on sensitive issues such as SRH and Gender-Based Violence (GBV). This is a volunteer-based position that offers a subsistence allowance for candidates with a strong spirit of volunteerism.

  • Reporting to: National Youth Coordinator.
  • Location: Dar es Salaam (Must be a resident).
  • Key Focus: Counseling, inquiry resolution, and client support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct Support: Answer incoming calls and provide professional SRH counseling and information.
  • Issue Resolution: Manage and resolve client complaints using applicable software and standard operating procedures.
  • Escalation: Identify and route complex issues to supervisors or relevant service providers.
  • Reporting: Use CRM software to prepare and share daily reports and track trends in customer inquiries.
  • Follow-up: Conduct necessary follow-up calls to ensure client satisfaction and care.

Qualification and Experience

  • Education: Minimum Diploma in Public Health (Nursing, Clinical Management), Gender, Community Development, or Social Studies.
  • Experience: At least one (1) year of relevant experience.
    • Bonus: Experience in Telesales is an added advantage.
  • Language: Must be fluent in both Swahili and English.
  • Key Skills:
    • Sharp, quick learner with strong data entry and phone skills.
    • Ability to handle shift work and collaborate effectively in a team.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, listening ability, and problem-solving mindset.
