As a Pharmacy Technician, you are the backbone of our medical supply chain. You will ensure that life-saving medications are managed with precision, from international procurement to the final “first aid kit” in an MSF vehicle. You ensure that our medical teams always have what they need to save lives.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Data Analysis & Reporting
- SitRep Management: Prepare and analyze monthly Pharmacy Situation Reports (SitRep). You will identify critical trends and provide actionable feedback to project teams.
- Trend Analysis: Collaborate with the supply team to generate reports on consumption patterns, expiry risks, and overstock situations.
- Documentation: Maintain impeccable archives of certificates, donations, and “Isystock” backups.
2. Supply Chain & Stock Management
- Order Coordination: Track domestic and international orders; proactively communicate backorder (BO) statuses to the team.
- Customs Support: Assist the Project Pharmacy Manager with pre-clearance applications and follow up on cargo status with customs officers.
- Stock Integrity: Conduct physical counts and monitoring for MSF offices, expat houses, and vehicles.
- Waste Management: Lead the drug destruction process for expired items, ensuring full compliance with MSF and Tanzanian regulatory protocols.
3. Team Support & Training
- Capacity Building: Prepare and organize pharmacy training sessions for MSF staff.
- Leadership: Act as the “gap-fill” lead for the Project Pharmacy Manager when they are out of duty.
- Emergency Readiness: Keep first aid and emergency kits updated and ready for immediate deployment.
Qualifications and Experience
| Requirement | Description |
| Education | University or Technical School Diploma in Pharmaceutical Studies. |
| Certification | Must be a Registered Pharmacist Technician. |
| Experience | Minimum 36 months of professional experience. |
| Technical Skills | Proficient in MS Office (Excel & Word). Experience with local MoH systems is a plus. |
| Languages | Fluent in English (Mission Language); Swahili is a strong asset. |
