The National Electoral Commission (NEC) of Tanzania invites qualified Tanzanian citizens to apply for temporary positions as Polling Station Officials for the upcoming 2025 General Election. These roles are critical to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and efficient electoral process.

- Polling Station Supervisors
- Assistant Polling Station Supervisors
- Polling Station Clerks
Eligibility Criteria:
For Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors:
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
- At least 18 years old.
- Not a political party leader.
- Must be honest, disciplined, and of sound mind.
- Completed Form Four education or higher, with proficiency in reading and writing Kiswahili or English. Must understand the Polling Station Supervisor’s Manual.
- Must reside in the ward where they are applying to work.
For Polling Station Clerks:
- Similar requirements as above, with the ability to understand the Polling Station Clerk’s Manual.
Compensation:
- Supervisors:
- Election Day: TZS 70,000 (2-day allowance), TZS 20,000 (food allowance), and TZS 20,000 (transport).
- Assistant Supervisors:
- Election Day: TZS 65,000 (2-day allowance), TZS 20,000 (food allowance), and TZS 20,000 (transport).
- Clerks:
- Election Day: TZS 65,000 (1-day allowance) and TZS 20,000 (food allowance).
- Training Period:
- All officials will receive TZS 50,000 per day for training, plus TZS 20,000 for transport.
Application Requirements:
- Clearly state the ward and position applied for.
- Submit:
- Copies of secondary education certificates (and professional certificates if applicable).
- A CV with residential address, reliable phone numbers, and details of two referees (including NIDA numbers).
- Two recent passport-sized photos.
- An identification letter from a local government official (Mtaa or Kijiji).
- Public servants must submit applications through their employers.
