Pharmacist Job at Familycare Health Centre
The Pharmacist is responsible for managing the medication therapy of patients, ensuring the safe dispensing of prescriptions, and supporting the overall clinical services of the health center. As part of a newly established facility, the Pharmacist will also assist in setting up pharmacy operations, systems, policies, and regulatory compliance processes.

- Review and interpret prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently.
- Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, dosage, and storage.
- Monitor for drug interactions, contraindications, and therapeutic duplications.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Provide immunizations if authorized and certified.
Pharmacy Operations Setup
- Assist in establishing pharmacy workflow and procedures.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure proper storage conditions for medications (including temperature-sensitive drugs).
- Set up inventory management and procurement systems.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for medication supply.
Inventory & Supply Management
- Maintain adequate stock levels and prevent shortages.
- Monitor expiration dates and remove outdated stock.
- Conduct regular inventory audits.
- Manage controlled substances in accordance with legal requirements.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with national and local pharmacy regulations.
- Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping.
- Prepare for inspections by regulatory authorities.
- Adhere to health, safety, and infection control policies.
Patient Care & Education
- Provide medication therapy management (MTM).
- Educate patients on chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
- Promote preventive healthcare services.
- Participate in community health education programs.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and reports.
- Support billing and insurance claim processes.
- Train and supervise pharmacy technicians or assistants.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid pharmacist license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Experience in primary care or community health will be added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laws and ethics.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
