Available Positions

1. HIV Clinical Services Officer

The HIV Clinical Services Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive HIV care and treatment services in line with national guidelines and PEPFAR priorities.

Qualification and Experience

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s in public health (MPH) or equivalent qualification is an added advantage.

2. Laboratory Services Officer

The Laboratory Officer (LO) provides technical leadership to ensure high-quality, efficient and sustainable laboratory services that support comprehensive HIV and TB prevention, care and treatment programs in the region and surveillance projects.

The officer directly manages the Temeke Specialized Laboratory, which serves as a referral and testing center for HIV Viral Load (VL), HIV Drug Resistance (HIVDR), HIV Early Infant Diagnosis (EID), HPV DNA and other specialized testing. 

Qualification and Experience

  • A minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences/ molecular biology, with knowledge and skills in molecular biology, Good Clinical Laboratory Practices, and Quality management systems. 
  • Proven competence in working in Molecular Laboratory with at least 5 years of Handson experience as a senior Laboratory supervisor /Manager position 
  • Knowledge and skills in laboratory mentorship on quality improvement is an added advantage. 
  • Sound understanding of the Molecular laboratory settings, testing flows, and laboratory data analysis 
  • Experience in M&E as it relates to laboratory services (Including LIS, eSRS, and GX-alert) 
  • Proven critical analysis skills and report writing skills 
  • Experience working with Local Government Authorities and PEPFAR funded project 
  • Good interpersonal and people management skills-a team player and builder. 

3. HIV/TB Technical Advisor

The TB/HIV Services Advisor provides technical leadership, coordination, and oversight for the implementation of integrated Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV services across Afya Thabiti–supported regions.

The Advisor ensures high-quality service delivery in TB case finding, intensified TB screening, TB Preventive Therapy (TPT), TB treatment, infection prevention and control (IPC), and TB/HIV collaborative activities in alignment with national guidelines and donor priorities.

Qualification and Experience

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) required.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), Epidemiology, or related field preferred.
  • Additional training in TB/HIV management is an added advantage.

4. Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Advisor

The CQI Advisor will provide strategic leadership, technical oversight, and mentorship in the design, coordination, and implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities under the Afya Thabiti Care and Treatment Project. 

This position ensures that HIV service delivery across supported regions adheres to national standards, PEPFAR priorities, and evidence-based CQI methodologies. The Advisor will strengthen the capacity of regional and facility QI teams, promote data-driven performance improvement, and institutionalize a culture of quality in health service delivery. 

Qualification and Experience

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or a related health field. 
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) with a degree in Public Health or Quality Improvement certification is an added advantage. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience implementing Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs, preferably within PEPFAR-supported HIV initiatives. 
  • Proven experience mentoring healthcare workers and QI teams and working with government health systems at national, regional, and council levels. 
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation systems, data analysis, and data utilization for program improvement. 
  • Familiarity with national CQI policies, including the Tanzanian Quality Improvement Framework for Health Care. 
  • Experience collaborating with MOH, CDC, PORALG, and other key stakeholders. 

5. HIV Testing Services Officer

The HIV Testing Service (HTS) and Linkage officer serves as the primary technical contact person for the project’s HIV testing and linkage services at supported councils and sites to ensure all facility-based HTS activities, including index testing, O-PITC, Social Network Testing, HIVST, and linkage case management, are implemented at the acceptable service delivery standards in the specific districts and supported facilities.

Qualification and Experience

  • A degree in medicine or nursing. A Master’s degree in public health or any health-related field is an added advantage
  • Proven experience and competence in supporting the HIV Testing programs with LCM services
  • Proven critical analysis skills and report writing skills.
  • At least 3 years of “hands-on experience” in HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs in a resource-limited country
  • Experience working with Local Government Authorities and PEPFAR-funded projects

6. HIV Clinical Services Officer

The HIV Clinical Services Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive HIV care and treatment services in line with national guidelines and PEPFAR priorities.

The position is responsible for strengthening the HIV treatment cascade—from case identification, ART initiation, adherence and retention to viral suppression—toward achieving the 95-95-95 HIV epidemic control goals.

Qualification and Experience

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s in public health (MPH) or equivalent qualification is an added advantage
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in HIV/AIDS clinical care and treatment, preferably within PEPFAR-supported programs.
