Migration Health Physician-Expedited SVN at IOM

IOM is seeking a qualified Migration Health Physician to oversee daily operations at the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Dar es Salaam.

You will ensure high-quality health assessments for refugees and migrants, managing everything from medical exams and TB treatment to data integrity and budget oversight.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care: Conduct medical examinations, vaccinations, and TB/STI treatments in line with international resettlement standards.
  • Operations Management: Supervise daily MHAC activities, including laboratory testing, imaging, and pre-departure medical procedures.
  • Quality Control: Implement SOPs, perform audits, and use data analysis to improve health service delivery.
  • Data & Reporting: Ensure all health data is accurately entered into IOM databases (MiMOSA) and provide regular activity reports.
  • Resource Oversight: Coordinate the procurement of medical supplies (vaccines, medicine) and assist with budget preparation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: University degree in Medicine with a valid Tanzanian medical license.
  • Experience: At least 4 years of professional clinical experience (with recent practice within the last 3 years).
  • Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills; proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
  • Advantages: Post-graduate specializations in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Emergency Medicine, or Public Health.
