Migration Health Nurse-Expedited SVN at IOM
Working under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and the direct supervision of the Migration Health Physician, the Migration Health Nurse provides essential clinical support at the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC).
You will ensure all health assessments meet the technical requirements of resettlement countries.

- Clinical Duties: Perform medical screenings (vitals, weight, vision), collect samples (blood, urine, sputum), and administer vaccinations.
- Case Management: Assist with TB management, treatments, and referrals. Provide pre- and post-test counseling for TB and HIV.
- Operations & Logistics: Monitor pharmacy stock and emergency kits. Ensure proper sample transport and implement SOPs/infection control protocols.
- Migration Support: Prepare pre-departure documentation, support mobile missions, and perform medical escort duties to ensure care during travel.
- Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate applicant registers, verify identities at every stage, and compile statistical reports for the Senior Nurse or CMHO.
Qualifications and Experience
Education & Licensing
- Bachelorโs Degree in Nursing (requires 3 years of relevant experience).
- OR a Diploma in Nursing (requires 5 years of relevant experience).
- Mandatory: A valid, current license to practice nursing in Tanzania.
Experience & Skills
- Strong technical skills, particularly in phlebotomy.
- Experience in clinical nursing, patient safety, and infection prevention.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
- Advantages: Experience in TB management, mass immunizations, communicable diseases, or emergency care specialization.
Languages
- Fluency in English and Swahili is required.
