The Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, on behalf of MDAs & LGAs (Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Local Government Authorities), invites applications from qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacancies as specified in this announcement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all hospital-based clinical duties related to various diseases within the respective specialty.
- Teach students in health training institutions located within the area of assignment.
- Investigate, monitor, and prevent disease outbreaks.
- Prepare continuing professional development (CPD) programs for health workers.
- Train and guide subordinate staff.
- Supervise staff under their authority.
- Design, conduct, and evaluate research activities and disseminate findings.
- Develop and prepare strategies to improve the quality of services in their specialty.
- Provide outreach services within the zone.
- Deliver medico-legal services.
- Participate in the formulation and supervision of the implementation of Government health policies and plans.
- Advise the Ministry on the management and operation of health services in the country.
- Participate as a member of the Medical Board panel for the assessment and retirement of employees on medical grounds.
- Develop curricula for continuing professional development of health workers.
- Prepare plans and budget estimates for health services.
Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a Master’s Degree (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynecology or a PhD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from a government-recognized university and must be registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council.
