Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
- Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary
- Adjustments; following hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
- Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance when need arise.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Conduct weekend youth friendly services
- Assist Doctor when performing different procedure
- Provide RCH services includes, family planning, Antenatal care services including PMTCT, Post natal check ups, Immunization, Cervical cancer screening.
- Perform all nursing and midwifery procedure as assigned by supervisor
Qualification
- Diploma in nursing from recognized health institution
- Demonstrate skills in information systems and advanced Microsoft office application
- Experience in leadership and administration
- License to practice
- Excellent in communication skills
Responsibilities
- Plan clinic activities pertaining to SRH maternal and child health
- To comply and deliver relevant service statistic reports on implemented activities at the clinic to the Clinic in charge
- Coordination of medical related training activities with other agencies, facilities and institutions in the area to ensure the staff are developed appropriately in their professions
- To provide Sexual and Reproductive Health Services to clients and counsel clients on appropriate methods
- To assist in minor surgery and to prepare facilities for other clinical services
- To provide VCT Services activities and clinic services
- To supervise Home based care services in the community
- Conducting training of SRH and HBC, VCT services
- Attending to any other duty as may from time to time be assigned by his superiors
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge in SRH services
- Empathetic personality, self-confidence, confidentiality, tolerance of non-scheduled work hours
- Computer knowledge
- Fluent in Oral and written English and Swahili
