Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria.

The company has its main office and operations in Geita, only 5 Km’s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and a supporting office in Dar es Salaam.

Purpose of the Role

To maintain a healthy workforce and working conditions to achieve high productivity and retain the
social license to operate at Geita Gold Mine Health Centre.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma in Nursing and Above.
• At least 2 years working experience,
• One Must be Registered with Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council
  

Duties and Responsibilities

• Rendering basic nursing care, which includes activities of daily living such as bed bathing, turning,
  feeding, and mobilizing patients in and out of bed.
• Performing clinical functions and reporting abnormalities to the matron. Any clinical functions
  undertaken are recorded on the patient’s file. The clinical functions are:
  • a. Taking patient information e.g., medical histories, vital signs, intake and output.
  • b. Applying dressings.
  • c. Taking specimens from patients e.g., urine and blood.
  • d. Giving oral medication to patients as prescribed.
  • e. Administering intra-muscular injections as prescribed.
  • f.Inserting catheters or IV lines.
  • g. Initiating basic nursing interventions e.g., administering oxygen, arresting hemorrhages, cardio-pulmonary resuscitations until assistance arrives
• Counselling patients as instructed by superiors
• Demonstrating basic nursing procedures to peers.
• Reporting health and safety risks or hazards detected for correction
