Health Assistant (50 Positions)

Job Responsibilities

• Collecting water and food samples and delivering them to the environmental health officer or assistant environmental health officer.
• Identifying and recording sources of water.
• Preparing maps of areas with water pollution to take appropriate action.
• Collaborating with village and street water committees to ensure the safety of water sources.
• Raising community awareness about protecting water sources.
• Encouraging the community to build and use improved toilets.
• Assisting in educating the community on proper hygiene practices.
• Reporting disease outbreaks to their supervisor.
• Encouraging the community to design, plan, implement, and manage community-based environmental health programs.
• Conducting house-to-house inspections.
• Inspecting residential and business premises.
• Managing hazardous waste, including waste from healthcare services.
• Enforcing minor environmental health laws.
• Performing other duties assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills.

Applicant Qualifications

Applicants must have completed Form Four (Ordinary Level) and hold a Health Assistant training certificate from a government-recognized institution.

Salary Scale: As per the Government Salary Scale TGHS - A.
