As part of the HIVE leadership team, s/he will also support strategic planning and project evaluation; support regional project staff as they liaise with Ministries of Health, PATA, and other partners to advance the scale-up of prioritized VTP service interventions through innovative service delivery models; coordinate ICAP’s technical assistance in a wide range of domains related to core maternal and child health services, including support for updated operational manuals and guidelines; capacity building at the national and sub-national levels; and convene meetings, workshops, and country-to country visits.
This position is grant funded.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:
- Leads project implementation by providing high-level global and regional technical assistance for program design evaluation in HIVE network countries.
- Supervises regional technical leads as they convene and support HIVE network countries to engage in communities of practice, the co-creation of resources, frameworks, tools, and country-to-country exchange visits.
- Supports the design, implementation and evaluation of in-person and virtual workshops, webinars, and meetings, including developing concept notes, agendas, panels, and presentations; preparing participants; reviewing presentations; analyzing evaluation data; and writing reports.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Build and maintain relationships with Ministries of Health and global stakeholders to ensure activity alignment and successful execution of HIVE initiatives across network countries.
- Represents ICAP and the HIVE project at meetings with government officials, donors, and partner organizations, as a member of the CQUIN leadership.
- Oversee collaborative engagement and in-country coordination to foster knowledge sharing with the HIVE network project partner, Pediatric Adolescent Treatment Africa (PATA).
Program Implementation & Documentation:
- Working with the HIVE Principal Investigator/Program Director to support program planning, coordination and delivery of country-to-country learning, documentation, and evaluation, and ensuring that measurable outcomes are attained within HIVE supported countries (including the development of the integration capability-maturity model).
- Works with the HIVE monitoring and evaluation, the CQUIN sister-network quality management, and clinical teams to develop and support action plans and follow-up for country-level activities.
- Assists in documenting and disseminating HIVE activities by writing conference abstracts and manuscripts and participating in panels at regional/global conferences.
- Assists in preparing project reports to the donor, ICAP Senior Management and network countries.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Requires an advanced degree(s) in medicine, nursing, and/or or public health.
- Minimum ten (10) years of progressive responsibility designing, implementing, and evaluating VTP programs in Africa.
- Proven track record of working with multi-lateral organizations, donors, and global agencies to advance VTP priorities, provide technical assistance, and advance adoption of innovative program designs.
- Demonstrated excellence in leadership of maternal and child health programs and initiatives in Africa.
- Experience planning and hosting both in-person and virtual meetings and/or webinars.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Excellent English communication skills (written/oral presentation) with the ability to synthesize complex information for a diverse group of stakeholders.
Desired
- Fluency in Portuguese is desirable but not required.
- Experience designing and implementing implementation science research is desirable but not required.
