35 Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH) Job Vacancies – September 2025

The Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH) was formally established under Government Notice No. 453 of 2015, gazetted on 16th October 2015, as a tertiary referral hospital.

The hospital was founded to address the growing need for advanced and specialized healthcare services in Tanzania, offering high-tech diagnostic equipment, skilled staff, and modern treatment facilities.

With a 400-bed capacity, BMH serves both inpatients and outpatients from within and outside the country.

The hospital provides a wide range of health services, including Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Radiology & Imaging (MRI, CT scan, Mammography, X-ray, Ultrasound, Angiography, Cath-lab), Laboratory Services, Surgery, and Radiotherapy.

To improve operational efficiency, BMH is inviting energetic and dynamic Tanzanians to apply for the following positions on contract terms:


1. Launder II – 2 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sorting out clothes for washing, drying, and ironing.
  • Performing laundry duties using machines.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of equipment, utensils, and workplace.
  • Reporting damaged or worn-out clothes for action.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualification & Experience

  • Form IV/VI Certificate with basic training in laundry services and ability to operate laundry machines.

2. Assistant Accounts Officer II – 2 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receiving cash deposits and banking.
  • Effecting cash payments.
  • Recording transactions and reconciling balances.
  • Managing invoices, claims, and cheque registers.
  • Preparing petty cash vouchers and maintaining records.
  • Following up debts from credit clients.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration/Commerce (majoring in Accountancy/Finance), or ATEC II from NBAA.

3. Health Assistant II – 1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning wards and surroundings.
  • Assisting bedridden patients (bed baths, bedpans, feeding, etc.).
  • Sending patients for X-rays and delivering specimens to labs.
  • Collecting patient linen for laundry.
  • Assisting in patient care and related tasks.

Qualification & Experience

  • Form IV/VI Certificate plus a one-year Certificate in a health-related field.
  • Training in Basic Mortuary Technician will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handling legal documents and maintaining safe custody.
  • Compiling evidence for hospital-related court cases.
  • Reviewing contracts and advising management.
  • Filing legal documents and attending courts/CMA.
  • Drafting prescribed legal documents.
  • Performing other legal duties as required.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB) plus completion of Law School of Tanzania or internship.
  • At least 4 years’ work experience in a related field.

5. Records Management Assistant II – 5 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receiving, registering, filing, and dispatching documents.
  • Tracing records and arranging files systematically.
  • Assisting in efficient correspondence management.

Qualification & Experience

  • Form IV/VI Certificate plus a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management, Archives, or related field.

6. Pharmaceutical Technician II – 4 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dispensing and compounding medicines.
  • Educating patients on proper drug use.
  • Inspecting, storing, and maintaining drug records.
  • Assisting in stock management and procurement.
  • Providing medication information to staff and patients.

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  • Licensed by the Pharmacy Council.

7. Health Laboratory Scientist II – 2 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducting laboratory tests and research.
  • Handling and maintaining laboratory samples and equipment.
  • Keeping records of laboratory activities.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Health Laboratory Technology, Microbiology, Hematology, Histopathology, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  • Completed internship and registered by the Health Laboratory Practitioners Council.

8. Medical Officer II – 6 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attending to patients (in/out).
  • Performing minor operations and assisting in major surgeries.
  • Supervising interns and medical students.
  • Participating in clinical rounds, outreach programs, and research.

Qualification & Experience

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
  • Completed internship and registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.

9. Assistant Nursing Officer II – 10 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing nursing care and administering prescribed treatments.
  • Educating patients on health matters.
  • Conducting ward rounds and counselling patients.
  • Ensuring compliance with medical standards and procedures.

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma in Nursing, Midwifery, or related field.
  • Licensed by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.

10. Medical Specialist II (Radiologist) – 1 Post (Contract)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing specialized radiology services.
  • Supervising ward rounds and clinical training.
  • Conducting research, outreach, and medical board participation.
  • Advising management on radiology service improvements.

Qualification & Experience

  • Master of Medicine (M.Med) in Radiology.
  • Doctor of Medicine degree and registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
