The Bank of Tanzania has announced the opening of applications for the 2025/2026 academic year under the Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere Memorial Scholarship Fund. The program aims to support outstanding Tanzanian students pursuing master’s degree studies in accredited universities within the country.
The scholarship targets disciplines that are vital for national development, particularly Mathematics, Science and Technology, Economics, Accounting, and Finance.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must:
Be Tanzanian nationals.
Hold a recognized bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance.
Not be beneficiaries of any other scholarship at the time of application.
Required Documents
Interested candidates should prepare and submit the following:
- Certified copies of degree certificate and transcripts.
- Certified copies of Advanced and Ordinary Level secondary education certificates.
- A certified copy of a birth certificate.
- A two-page statement of intent explaining the choice of program and career goals.
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae.
- Two recommendation forms completed and stamped by university staff from the institution where the applicant obtained their undergraduate degree.
Conditions of the Scholarship
Recipients will be required to:
Maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout their studies.
Submit progress reports at the end of each semester.
Seek permission from the sponsor before changing the field of study.
The scholarship may be terminated in cases of unsatisfactory performance or discontinuation of studies.
