The Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS) in Mwanza, Tanzania, invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for temporary research positions under the PRESHA Project – Preventing Severe Hypertensive Adverse Events in Pregnancy and Childbirth.
These roles are ideal for candidates passionate about public health, maternal care, and clinical research.
1. Clinical Research Assistant – 4 Posts
Location: Mwanza
Project: PRESHA (Pre-eclampsia prevention and management)
Type: Temporary Contract
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s in Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, or similar.
- At least 1 year of experience in research or clinical settings.
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proficiency in English and Swahili communication.
- Knowledge of tools like REDCap, SPSS, MS Excel/Word preferred.
Key Duties:
- Recruit and follow up with study participants.
- Collect clinical data (blood pressure, samples, surveys).
- Assist in data entry and adherence to ethical research protocols.
- Support study logistics, including coordination and transport.
2. Social Science Research Assistant – 1 Post
Location: Mwanza
Project: PRESHA
Type: Temporary Contract
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Public Health, Social Sciences, Psychology, or related fields.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Experience in maternal health research is an added advantage.
- GCP certification or readiness to complete one.
- Familiarity with NVivo, REDCap, and basic research software is desirable.
Key Duties:
- Conduct interviews and focus group discussions.
- Assist with participant recruitment and consent.
- Maintain data integrity and collaborate with hospital teams.
- Handle administrative duties and logistical support.
