Institute Overview
Machame Health Training Institute (MHTI) is a fully registered and accredited institution offering diploma-level Clinical Medicine and Nursing courses.
The institute is dedicated to becoming a national center of excellence in training health providers to enhance community well-being.
The Governing Board of MHTI invites applications from qualified candidates for the following positions:
1. Tutor (Medical Doctor) – 2 Posts
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution.
- At least three years of teaching experience in a college setting.
- Full registration and an active practice license from the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
- Additional qualifications such as teaching methodology, assessment of students, and experience in academic and examination offices are an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate and conduct lectures and tutorials.
- Prepare handouts and other educational materials for students.
- Supervise students during field practices and clinical rotations.
- Participate in setting, moderating, invigilating, and marking examinations.
- Provide constructive feedback to students after examinations.
- Maintain attendance records and perform administrative tasks as required.
- Participate in research and consultancy projects.
- Attend patients in the institute’s hospital as per the allocated schedule.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by senior staff members.
Additional Requirements: Applicants must not exceed 45 years of age.
Remuneration: Negotiable.
2. Volunteer Tutor (Medical Doctor) – 1 Post
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution.
- Must have full registration and an active practice license from the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
- Additional qualifications in teaching methodology, student assessment, or experience in academic and examination management are an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct and facilitate lectures and tutorials in classrooms or lecture rooms.
- Prepare handouts and other learning materials for students.
- Supervise field practices and clinical rotations of assigned students.
- Participate in setting, moderating, invigilating, and marking examinations.
- Provide timely feedback to students after examinations.
- Undertake administrative tasks such as:
- Attending meetings.
- Maintaining student attendance records.
- Engage in research and consultancy projects.
- Attend to patients in the institute’s hospital as per the allocated schedule.
- Perform any other duties assigned by senior staff members.
Additional Requirement: Applicants should not be above 45 years of age.
Remuneration: Negotiable.
