Zambia Cargo and Logistics Limited (ZCL), originally established as Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Limited in 1975, began operations with the recruitment of its first employee in May of that year. The company was created to offer freight forwarding services to the former Zambia Consolidated Copper Mining Conglomerate (ZCCM). On June 7, 1988, it was officially renamed ZAMCARGO LIMITED and re-registered as a clearing and forwarding business to better align with its evolving role in logistics and transportation.
ZCL offers a range of services, including operating a secure Container Freight Station (CFS) for the stuffing and storage of export cargo prior to shipment. The company’s Mukuba Depot, located just one kilometer from the port, includes a large 70,000 square meter warehouse and is connected to the TAZARA Railway via spur lines, ensuring efficient cargo handling. As one of the approved Gross Mass Verifiers, ZCL uses dependable equipment and employs experienced personnel to guarantee accurate services. Additionally, the company ensures round-the-clock security of customer cargo with continuous CCTV monitoring.
ZCL also manages the unloading of imported goods at the Port of Dar es Salaam and oversees all necessary documentation, including customs clearance with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).
