Position Title: Nursing Activity Manager
Duration: 12 months (Fixed Term Contract) – Full-time position (100%)

Location: Nduta Camp and Kibondo, Kigoma Region

Introduction
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent medical humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance to individuals affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from healthcare.

Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualifications
- Essential: Nursing diploma for general or specialized health services (Bachelor of Science in Nursing is desirable); specialization or training in Tropical Medicine is an asset.
- Must be registered and authorized to practice under the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council (TNMC).
Experience
- Essential: Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing-related roles.
- Desirable: Experience with MSF or other NGOs in developing countries.
Languages
- Essential: Proficiency in English and Swahili. Knowledge of Kirundi and/or French is a plus.
Objectives of the Position
The Nursing Activity Manager will define, coordinate, and monitor all nursing-related activities within the project, ensuring effective daily management of human resources in accordance with MSF nursing protocols and standards. The goal is to guarantee efficiency, quality, and continuity of prescribed care.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Activity Planning and Organization: Plan and organize all nursing-related activities (IPD, OPD, maternity, nutrition, etc.) and participate in annual planning and budgeting to maintain high-quality healthcare standards. Schedule duty rosters and shifts as needed.
- Implementation of Protocols: Coordinate and supervise the implementation of legal therapeutic protocols and procedures, providing technical support to ensure quality nursing care, patient confidentiality, and compliance with therapeutic and sterilization rules.
- Nutritional Supervision: Oversee nutritional activities to ensure the regular provision of therapeutic food meeting quality and quantity standards.
- Administrative Oversight: Ensure all administrative procedures and documents (e.g., patient cards, discharge papers) are accurately maintained.
- Pharmacy Management: Supervise pharmacy operations in collaboration with the Pharmacist and Medical team, ensuring proper distribution and stock levels of medications.
- Collaboration with Logistics: Work closely with the Logistics Manager to supervise laboratory outputs related to nursing activities, ensuring timely collection of samples and results.
- Human Resources Coordination: Plan and supervise processes related to the recruitment, training, evaluation, and development of nursing staff, enhancing their capabilities to meet project needs.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to the line manager on nursing activities and participate in monthly reports.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
- Plan and Organize Nursing Activities: Oversee all nursing-related activities across departments and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor Quality of Care: Assess clinical care quality and conduct regular reviews of patient files and safety incidents.
- Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Oversight: Collaborate with the IPC supervisor to manage and support IPC activities and ensure the availability of necessary supplies.
- Ensure Compliance with Log Frame Indicators: Monitor adherence to key performance indicators related to nursing activities.
